# /unban

<Note>By default, this command requires the **Ban Members** permission. This command requires the bot to have the **Ban Members** permission.</Note>

Unban a user from the server. This fails if they are not banned. The user will not be notified, even if it is theoretically possible.

## Syntax

```
/unban <user> <private-notes>
```

| Parameter       | Information              |
| --------------- | ------------------------ |
| `user`          | The user to ban.         |
| `private-notes` | A private reason to log. |
