1. Abide by Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines

2. Security

You are responsible for the security of your Discord account and managing access controls and permissions. There is little, if anything, that we can do if improper configuration of dashboard access permissions or command permissions results in people being able to compromise the integrity of your server using Daedalus, and we do not accept responsibilty for improper configuration. We are responsible for ensuring that the dashboard is only accessible to people you specify and commands are only available based on the command permissions you configure, as well as implementing guardrails to avoid such incidents.

3. Conduct

The following are prohibited by these Terms of Service but are not an exclusive list of forbidden activities.
  • Impersonating Daedalus’ staff or maintainers in any way using the service.
  • Harassing or abusing others in any way using the service.
  • Testing for vulnerabilities in the service by intentionally attempting to breach its security measures.
  • Attempting to compromise servers through probing the service in any way.
  • Using the service to host or promote activity that may endanger any human lives or lead to physical harm.
  • Using the service in any way that is discriminatory on the basic of any protected class including but not limited to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexuality, nationality, age, or disability.
  • Impersonating any user or using the service to feign authenticity for the purposes of scamming, extorting, or otherwise misleading someone.
Additionally, when using custom clients, the following are also prohibited.
  • Using content that is unlawful or promotes hate, discrimination, or violence in a Daedalus custom client.
  • Cohosting without making it readily apparent that the bot is not solely controlled by Daedalus.
  • Attempting to impersonate Daedalus or misrepresent messages sent by a cohosting process as sent by Daedalus.
  • Using a Daedalus custom client to commit any conduct or content violations.
  • Editing messages sent by Daedalus in a way that could negatively affect Daedalus’ reputation or mislead users in any way.

4. Content

Using the service to host any of the following content is prohibited. This is not an exhaustive list.
  • Content that is unlawful in any way.
  • Content that promotes hate, discrimination, or violence.
  • Pornography or other sexual content in spaces that are not age-restricted via Discord’s age-restricted channels.
  • Content protected by intellectual property laws for which you do not have the right to use or consent from the holder of the rights.

5. Ratelimits

At our discretion, using the service or API in a manner not consistent with its intended use that goes beyond reasonable usage amounts is forbidden and subject to temporary suspension or permanent termination of access to the service and/or the API. We will make an effort to alert you prior to any punitive action and document reasonable limits where appropraite.

6. Reselling

You may not use any portion of the service without our express permission for your own financial gain. Specifically, you cannot sell access to our services; however, you may use our services for paid features such as custom roles for supporters, tracking subscriptions to you/your server from your users, etc.

7. Enforcement

We reserve the right to temporarily suspend or permanently terminate users’ or servers’ access to the service at any time in response to violations of our Terms of Service. We will communicate any such occurrences if possible and make an effort to give violators an opportunity to cooperate, rectify the wrongdoing, and comply, but we do not guarantee any particular actions prior to termination.

8. Severability

If any provisions in these Terms of Service are deemed invalid or unenforceable by law, remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

9. Changes to these Terms

We reserve the right to amend these Terms of Service at any time, in which case we will inform you as needed for major changes. These changes will only come into effect after the date communicated to you.
